Among his most notable assignments was Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), where he served in senior airport operations leadership, ultimately becoming Director of Operations. Managing the day-to-day operations of one of the busiest international airports in the world required balancing safety, efficiency, customer experience, airline coordination, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness on a massive scale.
He previously served as Airport Director for Stockton Metropolitan Airport, where he guided airport operations and development during an important period of commercial service expansion and infrastructure growth. His leadership there positioned him for increasingly prominent executive roles within California aviation.
Rondinella subsequently joined the Sacramento County Airport System before being selected as Airport Director for Orange County's John Wayne Airport. Under his leadership, John Wayne Airport earned national recognition for customer satisfaction, consistently ranking among North America's highest-rated airports in J.D. Power passenger satisfaction studies. The achievement reflected Rondinella's belief that operational excellence and exceptional customer service are inseparable components of a successful airport.
Throughout his career, Rondinella also earned the prestigious Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) designation, one of the highest professional credentials in airport management. He has served on the boards of both the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and Airports Council International–North America (ACI-NA), helping influence industry best practices and the future direction of airport leadership across the continent.
Today, Rondinella continues to contribute to aviation as Chief Executive Officer of Aeroplex Aerolease Group while also advising airports and aviation organizations through executive consulting. His decades of experience continue to benefit airport operators, industry leaders, and communities seeking innovative approaches to aviation management.
